I like the long sleeve dress and the ballet slippers, Br, but the dress is pretty expensive. I wonder if you could find something similar at Target? I decided to have a quick look at Jacqui Eve, and found a similar style (that I like as it disguises the tummy a bit!!): www.jacquie.com.au/asp/product.asp?category=Dresses&line=501714Hard to know, isn't it? And everyone's figure is so different. I think your black hair, either straight and glossy or put up, would be lovely with black. You can wear a shawl or cardigan or something with a bit of color in it, if you want some contrast. I am beginning to feel nervous myself, and I'm not the one who needs a dress!! When will you be able to shop? And are you able to visit a Myer or similar, with a range of choices? Elisa

I have the dress, was just looking at pictures to double check accessories. My dress was $130. May need shoes and stockings and maybe bracelet, slip or something.
I can go to any shop, and it will be Thurs.
Hope to still post a pic of my dress.

Oh, whew, I was starting to panic, Br. I thought you said you had the dress, but then I read your post (obviously not very carefully!) and I saw the cost, then thought about postage, the time...... Deep breath. Ok, so with a v neckline, would you wear a necklace? Or just the bracelet you're hoping to find? I suppose you could look for the accessory first and then the shoes as black shoes would be nice. Do the girls have a consensus on what you should wear with the dress? Have you a coat you could wear there then whip off before you walk in the door of the deb place (that's what I used to do ;D )? I wonder if you have a pashmina? I bought a couple really cheaply last year, I think. Once washed, they were gorgeous and soft and scrunchable enough to wear as a scarf, as dd does, or to put around one's shoulders as a stole. They have some colors left - I bought the white and the black, and a purple for a Christmas gift for my sil's mum. www.biscote.com.au/accessories/viscose-blend-pashmina/w1/i1001220_1001173/They're very light but lovely to wear, imo. Ooh, how exciting. ;D Elisa

Ooohhh....all so very lovely. I too am in on the excitement. I like all of the items...especially all of the shoes links. I have one pair of dressy church shoes.... ...that aren't too fancy...but passable. I love those grey ones Elisa (and I usually shy away from grey clothes as they don't suit my skin tone at all).

I look vile in grey, too, Linda, but a black dress and grey shoes looks nice, and a bit less heavy than all black.

Nearly took a pic of the deb dress and my dress, but the batteries needed charging.

No about the shoes, just whatever is there. Can't look around the shops as it is a long drive.

The dress is lovely, Br! Well chosen! It's a very flattering shape. I'm sure you'll find some shoes that will look well with your dress without any trouble. I can see why you'd like a wrap of some sort; it would be warm, but would also look very good with the shape of the dress.
I can't wait for the deb, so you can get all dressed up! What fun!!
