Oh, please do, Elisa! I used to read her blog all the time and for some reason it's not on my blog import list any more (I'm not sure what happened to it). Looking forward to any tips you can share. Linda

There's nothing in this book that will be considered revolutionary by any of us, I think, but she does phrase some things very nicely.
"Show your children that you enjoy life and that your family makes you happy. That will be one of the greatest gifts you can give them."
"Housework never ends, so don't try to finish it."
The above is something that applies to me, it hangs over my head endlessly.
She keeps lists, and tries to arrange the day so that she completes some have-to-be-done chores but still has time to do some things that she wants to do. That way it doesn't feel as though each day is an endless round of drudgery.
A quote:
"And I always remember:
I can move chores around I can put things off till tomorrow I don't have to finish everything It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be the best I can do on that day. I'm not living in a showroom; this is my home.
Sometimes I don't do any work at all. If I've had a really busy time at work and at home, I give myself a day off to recover. That day off is a powerful thing. I want to look after myself and I want to enjoy my work. I'm in this for the long haul."

I especially like the one about children and family as well as the one about housework never ending. I too have things hanging over me, endlessly. I need to shift the way I think about those types of things.

I do the things she says, I keep remembering a time when I was about 36, I had a breakthrough really.
At the moment it is different, but not. Things may get easier for me. I noticed peeling potatoes for 2 people for example very nice. I like it.

You got your priorities right a long time before I did, Br. I wish I'd known you then, I'd have saved everyone including myself a lot of angst.
It's so weird cooking for less people, isn't it? Sometimes on weekends there's a day where there will be only 2 or 3 or just me home for dinner. It takes about 10 minutes to cook, eat and clean up lol, rather than the usual 2 or 3 hours.
