I just wanted to mention how much I LOVE The Book Depository! Thanks so much, Elisa, for recommending it. I don't buy a lot of books, but the few I have, I've gotten there at quite a savings. For instance, two I ordered arrived just today. They were shipped on October 31, 2011 and they arrived today! That's seven business days to come from England to here (clearing customs and all of that). When I ship chocolate from here to my Dad in Ontario....it takes 5 to 6 business days...and we're in the same country! Then...there is the price. They're books written in the U.S. On the back of all books in Canada, the price is printed (written on by the publisher as it's exactly the same print as the rest of the writing on the book and part of the cover...the same as the "about the author" etc.). It gives the price in the U.S. and the price in Canada. For these two books, the printed price, had I bought them here in Canada (and had to drive to the book store) would have been $ 25.00. However, I had them shipped from England to here (no shipping charges) and I paid $16.05 total And...I didn't even use any gas to go pick them up. Amazing!

That is wonderful Linda! I remember you were wanting books but didn't want to import them? I am so glad. $16 sounds like a good price for a book.

Thanks, BR. Actually, there were two books and $16 was the total ($4 and a bit and $11 and a bit) Yup...you're right about me not wanting to import them. I was really nervous about that, so I googled it with the word "Canada" in there. Not a single bad review and many said they had it shipped Canada Post (instead of a courier) and ordered just one or two books per order to keep the cost down. Apparently, if it's under a certain amount there is no duties or taxes even with Canada Post. Sooo...that's what I do too. With this order I wanted four books, so I broke it into two orders. I also purposely just give my P.O. Box, so they can't make a mistake and send it by courier...it must be Canada Post. ;D

That is fantastic, Linda! I'm so glad the site has been a help to you. Your books arrived faster than mine ever do, too! I hope you enjoy your purchases. Elisa
