Thanks, Br, I'll look at that tomorrow.
They are brave women to pose in those grey outfits, I reckon!!

I'm not hugely keen on any of the outfits in the second link. Some of them are, to my eyes, unflattering.
My issue with Trinny and Susannah is that they tend to over-dress their subjects in a way that is too formal and too fussy for my liking.
Maybe if I were in an office every day I would dress a little more like that, but I prefer a more casual, less try-hard look.
I bought that book for my sister as she likes to dress in what she feels is a more corporate way, but she looks much better in simpler lines.
Maybe I'm biased because anything fussy looks silly on me; short people look better in streamlined clothes.
It could also be because I take what they show as literal, I am not good at interpreting their clothes advice.

In the third link, the blog author explains the different shapes more bluntly, and in a easier way for me to understand.
So here's my real beef with the T&S body shape thing: I fall into no single one of the categories, but sort of into two. Probably explains why I've always had trouble finding clothes to fit!!

I feel much more happy that I have found one body shape to follow that is for sure. I wonder if you would ever be just one of the shapes Elisa?
I felt exactly the same way, especially on the show, that I actually wouldn't be happy to be one of the people on the show. I would be in tears like lots of the others.
The clothes are very English as well, traditional. But I have found that I can work out casual clothes that fit what to do. Unfortunately the advice on the links isn't as much as the book. Maybe there is more on the internet not sure. There isn't too much information in the book, just a little more otherwise you wouldn't remember it all to shop.
I have remembered that I need anything with less material, ie nothing flared, gathered, too much extra sewing on it, things like that. I saw shorts in Myer like that so I didn't even try them on. I feel when I was young I always had those type of gathers etc. I found a photo of me with the right t-shirt when I was a teen but the skirt was too long and too flared out. What a shame I didn't wear the right styles then.
I had a pencil type skirt when I was at a church camp once. I actually like it that much. It is a shame I don't have a picture of it to see if it was really that bad. I had another skirt (maybe it was actually the same one) a denim one that wasn't flared. The top wasn't the right type, but OK, and I did look nice in that outfit actually. Even dd mentioned it. It is the one on fb with the white top. The top is wrong, the skirt right. Actually they are both on fb. The white top with the stripe over the front is the right top wrong skirt. The lacy white top is the wrong top and the right skirt.

I am going to try it out on the jacket I didn't buy last year. Hopefully I will get a chance this year. Need one that is long, but fitted around the waist, deep v at neck.

There are two categories I think I could fall into, although one a bit moreso than the other. The 'style' of clothing they show helped me decide as that type of 'style' (similar style...but less dressy) is what I feel most comfortable in. I agree with you though, Elisa...I prefer more casual and non fussy type of outfits. Also, I would fit into that category if one with quite a few more pounds can still be included. Linda

Yes, well, I admit that the image I have in my mind of my shape, and the actual lumpy me in person may not quite be the same. ;D I see what you mean about the deep v-neck, Br, being more flattering for that body type than a skivvy. I seem to look best in a low-ish crew, small v or or scoop neck - but never a wide-neck - t shirt, with a simple, hip length or slightly shorter cardigan (nothing fluffy or cable knit) or jacket over a pair of straight-leg jeans and a small-ish heel, like a loafer with a 3/4 inch heel. If not a t-shirt, then a slightly fitted, buttoned collared shirt. And nothing khaki, mustard , or murky colored. It matches my skin lol. ;D ;D A trio of women arrived while I was out at lunch. They were in their 60's, nicely dressed, but one of them had nailed it. Her dark, almost cornflour blue pants fit her well, and her darker blue blouse, not fussy but a little billowy, had a medium-sized, unfussy pattern through it which picked up the color of her pants. The color looked lovely with her skin. Her hair was dark and cared for, in a simple shape. It reminded me that it's not that hard to make an effort. Elisa

Khaki looks horrible on me, I noticed I look like Tom Jones who has been living it up lol.

I don't look good in Khaki, Grey, Brown, Black etc., although I do prefer dark bottom pieces of clothing (skirt or pants etc.). I prefer pastel colours (mostly light pink or blue, mint green, peach etc.) or vibrant colours like red, burgundy, blue, pink etc. for my top pieces of clothing. Running shoes are my shoes of choice ;D or else something with a similar comfort level. I can never understand how (or why) women get winter boots with a high heel on them... .....I'm nervous walking on snow/ice in a flat boot and think wearing a high heel adds just one more thing to deal with.

Linda, can't agree more about the shoes. They have to be rubber soled and comfortable enough to walk all day in, or I don't buy them.
I love a soft, clear burgundy color near my face - it's my absolute favorite. Not a purple-ish burgundy, though.
I'm also with you on wearing a dark-colored garment on the bottom half.

I was at the pool today and saw a lady walk past. I think I noticed her shirt. Then I noticed she has the same jeans as me. Then I noticed the sleeves, same as I'm supposed to wear, the shirt was tapered in the waist like I am supposed to wear. But it was like a 60s Miller shirt, wonder where she got it from? It had capped sleeves I think.
